Port Noarlunga Bowling Club has 9 Bowls Australia Accredited Coaches who are available for 1:1 coaching, formal practice/training sessions, Night Owls sessions and School Programs.
Coaches meet regularly to plan the format of training, organise School Programs and support the Club’s Player and Team Development Leader, Geoff Munn.
The Club has invested heavily in recent years for coach training and accreditation, and employed a Head Coach for 3 years, so the Club has the capacity to support new bowlers, respond to requests from experienced bowlers to review aspects of their game and meet requests from local schools to meet their curriculum needs.
Player and Team Development Leader
At the start of the 2017/18 Pennant Season The Board appointed Geoff Munn as the leader of “high performance” bowling.
This initiative is a natural progression from the previous emphasis on coaching, a successful Pennant season and the Club’s aspiration to achieve higher levels in bowling competitions.
Geoff’s appointment is the beginning of a five year development process which is a priority in the Club’s Strategic Plan.
Geoff came to the Club from Ascot Park Bowling Club where he was a highly accomplished Premier 1 Grade Bowler and winner of Club and State Championships.
His knowledge of bowling, enthusiasm for the game and motivational skills have a great influence on bowlers and the Club in general. There is a better understanding of what it takes to bowl consistently and be competitive in high levels of competition.
Geoff’s presence and leadership on the green has been very influential in the development of emerging bowlers.
